KING OF KINGS 29 APR 2014

KING OF KINGS: “Behold Your King!” Glory to God in the highest & on earth peace, good will towards men! This post is alive w/ Christlike thoughts & thoughts of Christ; the former about his WAY & the TRUTH, the latter about the joy of our LIFE. Sevens are often associated w/ Christ: 7 horns of strength, 7 eyes of wisdom, 7 spirits watching, 7 types of churches, 7 bowls, & 7 trumpets .

“Let this mind be in you.” “Be not therefore anxious for tomorrow; for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient to the day is the evil of it.” (A.) 7 THINGS CHRIST DID TO ELIMINATE FEAR FACING HIS LAST DAY. Yahshua knew that “The fear of man brings a snare; but whoever puts his trust in Yahweh shall be safe.”(B) 1) He focused on his mission. 2) He sang & quoted scripture. 3) He constantly cared for others: ministering, encouraging, & praying for them. 4) He desensitized what would happen by warning & preparing himself & close friends. 5.) He walked w/ a heavy anointing of the Spirit, empowering him with courage & faith. 6) He focused on the present rather than worry about the future. 7) He prayed & submitted to God’s will. OUT OF THAT DEATH CAME LIFE FOR ALL.

Christ said, If you want to be great, you must be a servant of the rest.(C) 7 QUESTIONS THE KING OF KINGS WILL & WON’T ASK ON THAT BIG DAY. He won’t ask what kind of car you drove, rather how many people you drove who needed transportation. He won’t ask what was the square footage of your house, rather how many people you welcomed into your home. He won’t ask what your highest salary was, rather if you compromised your character to get it. He won’t ask about the color of your skin, rather the contents of your character. He won’t ask what was your job title, he’ll ask if you performed your job to the best of your ability. He won’t ask what neighborhood you lived in, rather he will ask how you treated your neighbors. He won’t ask how many friends you had, but to how many people were you a friend. One final thought, Christ’s important command, “Now that I, your Lord & teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet.”(D) No wonder he spoke so many parables about servanthood.

“Heaven & Nature Sing!”: 7 THINGS CHRIST WANTS US TO THINK ON: Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is pure, whatever is of good report, whatever is honest, whatsoever things are just, and whatever has any virtue or praise to it. (E)

7 NOTABLE THINGS ABOUT CHRIST JESUS. 1) Demons flee in his name. 2) Even the winds obeyed him 3) whoever believes in him will have streams of living water flow from them 4) He said he came to set the earth on fire(F) 4) he is called a stone that grows into a great mountain & destroys “the image”(G) 5) his genealogical lineage has 4 irregular women in it: Canaanite Tamar, Prostitute Rahab, Moabite Ruth, & Hittite Bathsheba. 6) He welcomed sinners & ate w/ them, in other words he kept doubtful company, 7) He was practical. His words were powerful practical timeless truths…he was no philosopher pondering his perfection. He had a wonderful solidarity with the common person.

FINAL THOUGHTS ON CHRIST. The Word asks, “What is man…that thou visitest him?”(H) When Christ visited & was rejected, he said, “The day of your visitation has come & you didn’t recognize it.”(I) When he began his ministry, he read ISA 61, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me…He has anointed me…” And the people thought, where is the proof of all these claims, grabbed him and tried to toss him off a nearby cliff. Christ said his food was to do the will of God.(J) And when he was finished he summed his ministry up to God, “I glorified Thee on the earth, having accomplished the work which Thou hast given me to do.” (K) We are told in PS 24:8 to lift up our heads, the King of Glory shall come in. And in another Psalm (L) we are told that all the kings shall bow down before Him and all nations shall serve Him. He is indeed the King of Kings (M) and a king like no other king. “I serve a risen Savior, he’s in the world today.” Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
