VALUABLE ANCIENT EVIDENCE 23 FEB 2014

One often hears “I need evidence to believe…” and yet sadly, when offered evidence, the skeptic often refuses to see it. So this post is less for the stubborn skeptic & more for those open to learning. We often can be our own worst enemies, accepting negative misbeliefs & preventing ourselves from accepting the good things life can give us, for instance: freedom, joy, & life more abundant. This post provides the details of two ancient manuscripts from 124 B.C. & 100 B.C. that provide evidence of Yahshua ha Messiach (our Messiah). I have seen the love & teachings of Christ bring wonderful things to people, yet some people refuse to accept these blessings because they mentally cling to the notion there is no proof of Christ. While there are many negative misbeliefs, refusing to accept that God cares about you is one of the saddest. I present this evidence to bless your life.

A GREAT PROPHET 700 YRS. BEFORE CHRIST. Various accounts tell us of a great prophet who served God from about 740 B.C. to c.674 B.C., in other words approx. 2,800 years ago. His written prophecies were recorded and diligently copied year after year on scrolls. His prophetic book (scroll) was translated about 250 yrs. before Christ into an authorized Greek translation, which we still have copies of. We ALSO have 2 scrolls of this prophetic book that date from 125 B.C. and 100 B.C. One of these is called the Great Isaiah Scroll and was found sealed in a cave in 1947 by a Palestinian shepherd boy. The ancient scrolls have nearly identical texts to the modern one we use.

Why is all this important??? Because this great prophet, who prophesied far better than Nostradamus, predicted the life of Yahshua (Christ) in intimate detail 7 centuries before Christ came!!! In Paul’s first letter to the Corinthian church he refers to Isaiah (without naming him) when he writes that the life of Christ followed what the Scriptures had predicted the Messiah’s life would be like. (1 COR 15:3-8) The ancient scrolls that we have prove that Christians didn’t make up these prophecies. It is typical for god-haters to invent ideas (without factual substance) that so-and-so made up such-and-such in the Bible and that it is fake. These 2 ancient scrolls are undoubtedly authentic, and the details of the prophet Isaiah’s predictions are amazing. (Far more amazing than the predictions we are given each new year by people like Jeanne Dixon, which have at least a 50% failure rate.)

THE PREDICTIONS ABOUT CHRIST GIVEN ABOUT 700 YEARS BEFORE HE CAME. (found in chapters 52 & 53 of Isaiah’s prophecies). (Allow me to simplify the quote by leaving out portions in order to keep it short but the meaning of the predictions are intact. ISA 2:3 arguably predicts the virgin birth. Let’s begin at 53:4 and go to 53:11:
“Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down…he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the LORD laid on him the sins of us all. He was oppressed & treated harshly, yet he never said a word. He was led like a lamb to the slaughter. …He was struck down [death/sacrifice] for the rebellion of my people. He had done no wrong [sinless]…but he was buried like a criminal [burial]; he was put in a rich man’s grave….his life is made an offering for sin, he will have many descendants. He will enjoy a long life [resurrection]….because of his experience, my righteous servant will make it possible for many to be counted righteous, for he will bear all their sins.”

A WIN-WIN FOR ALL. The hundreds of ancient prophecies of the details of Christ’s life are truly amazing. Of course one might skeptically say that Yahshua knew these prophecies and set his life up to fulfill them. That is silly. He could not choose his birthplace Bethlehem. He was very fortunate that his parents were warned to flee to Egypt before the children in that area were massacred. And certainly no one would volunteer for the suffering he went thru on the cross. He had no tangible guarantee of fame or resurrection…he suffered the crucifixion simply on his faith that the good Lord would bring good things out of his suffering and that God would indeed resurrect him like the Spirit had inspired him to believe. The fact that he fulfilled so many written ancient predictions is an incredible feat that defies chance. Of course there is really nothing that doesn’t at some level take belief. If a policeman asked my name and I gave it…he could say how do I know that is true…and then I pull out my driver’s license and he could say, how do I know that is real? I have had policemen act this anal, and reject any and all proof…so my illustration is not far fetched. Unfortunately, there are many people who treat Christ and his life and testimony the same way…and sadly never realize the love he had for humanity. He realized that mankind needed to pay for our rebellion, and he was willing to be the ultimate sacrifice to pay that judicial debt. His life was an example of DIVINE LOVE. And it shows the power of divine love. If you want the power to solve problems in a positive way, examine Christ’s life!! I can personally testify that His way is a win-win for everyone.
