One rancher has been shot dead…LaVoy Finicum..who was one of the original leaders at the Refuge. It occurred at an FBI at a roadblock where some of the leaders of the group that were going to another area of Oregon to go to talk to a community. The five arrested at the traffic stop were Ammon Bundy, Ryan Bundy, Brian Cavalier, Shawna Cox and Ryan Waylen Payne. Apparently from reports, LaVoy Finicum had his hands up but was not cooperating when they shot him.
Someone unknown also may have been hurt because the hospital at Burns is on lockdown. In all, police arrested eight people linked to the armed siege Tuesday: five in the traffic stop on Highway 395; two others in Burns; and one in Arizona. The two arrested in Burns were Joseph Donald O’Shaughnessy and Pete Santilli. Pete Santilli was earlier exposed as one of the FBI’s agent provocateurs within the Bundy group. So that means the FBI have arrested one of their own. All eight people arrested face a federal felony charge of conspiracy to impede officers of the United States from discharging their official duties through the use of force, intimidation or threats, the FBI and Oregon State Police said. And protester Jon Ritzheimer, who previously made headlines for leading an anti-Islam protest in Arizona, turned himself in to police in Peoria, Arizona, FBI spokesman Kurt Remus said.
Blaine Cooper, one of the Mormons of the group, has taken charge at the Refuge, and will continue the standoff. The FBI has the area surrounded with armed roadblocks. There are women and children along with the armed ranchers at the Malheur Wildlife Refuge, and it is very possible they will be in the line of fire when the FBI move in. Blaine Cooper said the Bundy Group at the Refuge are ready to stand and die at the Refuge.
Will provide additional information as I can.
