TRAPS 13 OCT 2013
C.S. Lewis said there are traps for atheists everywhere. While that is true, the opposite is also true, there are traps preventing God’s people from seeing or even sensing God.
God says, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Yet, live things can be with us & not noticed. The viruses & bacteria that cause meningitis are present in everyone’s body, but we only notice their presence when micro-organisms attack the CS Fluid. I discovered this when an uncle died. Meningitis comes like a cold, but is soon fatal. We ignore these common micro-organisms until we see their effect. Likewise, at the other extreme is a God bigger than creation whose presence we pay attention to when something dramatic happens. Dusty, my asst. foreman, who had no previous interest in God, gave his life to Christ after being miraculously saved 3 times in the steel factory from what should have been fatal accidents.
God will come dramatically into someone’s life, do things only He can do, get a person totally excited about Him, & then disappear. (Then I get to hear about it.) The great prophet Elijah, certainly someone one would think qualified to see God, was hiding in a cave when a strong wind started destroying boulders on the mountain, & next an earthquake hit. After that a fire raged over the countryside. But God was in none of these things, He was a still small voice that followed all this drama! (1 KNG 19:11-13) His randomness &/or illusive subtlety of presence can be contrary to our expectations. In part, most people are just too evil for a holy God. “And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not….Men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.” JN 1:5, 3:19b-20 This is the opposite of “Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God.”
When earthquakes happens we try to see God. Why did God do this? Why does God hate us? Why? Why? Why? So we speculate to make sense of life, & often miss the opportunity to actually sense the Spirit of God. Storms happen to both the godly & ungodly. I am impressed by the way the Japanese deal w/ earthquakes. The survivors immediately come together & rebuild…I saw firsthand how quickly traces of the quake can vanish. They don’t speculate “why” or “why does God hate us?” Nor do they despair by looking at the wider or bigger picture. Wisely they realize that each day’s trouble is sufficient unto itself. Without being Christians, they know the principle Christ taught, “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” MT 6:34 Tragedy can be seen as an opportunity to give a helping hand…and Christians who have done that at times are surprised because then they sense the presence of God’s Spirit in their lives. So all the fretting about future earthquakes, doesn’t bring God into our lives. We often do the same thing in regards to the agenda of the New World Order. Instead of helping in the here & now, we get distracted w/ problems in other places or in the future, & despair of doing anything.
Daniel was given a vision of the end times (“shall destroy…the holy people”) and it made him sick for days! (DAN 8:27) Two quotes from those in power tell us what is coming: David Rockefeller (in ’94 to the U.N.), “All we need is the right major crisis & the nations will accept the New World Order.” George Soros then predicted that the New World Order will follow an upcoming global economic collapse. Plus he added, “China should become the leader of the new global order.” For thousands of years, God’s Word has warned us that riches are temporary (PRV 27:24) & can quickly disappear (PRV 23:5). Here we have an upcoming economic earthquake. The way to sense God’s Spirit is to help our fellow brothers & sisters, rather than worrying about the future, which will take care of itself. Nor should we feel sorry for ourselves, despair & moan, why is God doing this to us? Both He & Satan’s elite have told us this economic earthquake is coming. It is so they can bring in their Satanic New World Order. If we see that tragedy is an opportunity, then we rise above the evil of our day, to become Christ’s instrument of love & light to a dark world. As Isaiah’s time it was a “land of deep darkness”, so the darkness may well never comprehend the light. That does not mean the Spirit of God is not with us… O.K…. “Lord lift up the light of thy countenance upon us!” PS 4:6
