THE HIDDEN COST OF SCIENCE. While Science has allowed us to measure the composition of soil on Mars, it’s blinded us to seeing our souls. We’ve lost our beautiful souls for the cold soil of science.

Science replaced God as our source of truth, and this post is analyzing how well Science has done. When science went to work, we realized there were many unknowns & misconceptions, which we were amazed to learn. For sure, Science greatly broadened our view of the world, but very few realize that it has given us a very shallow view, & that is what this post will bring out.

Science relies strictly on measurements; if it can’t be measured, it doesn’t exist, therefore erase God, heaven, love, beauty, nobility of thought, & morality from the equation. When I say Science relies strictly on measurements, I don’t mean that they don’t fudge, for in their zeal to erase God they will pride fully overstate their case; for instance, Freud’s psychotherapy & Darwin’s Evolution Theory which were put forth as fact, were not supported by measurements. Freud declared morality to be the neurosis of the superego acting out. In science, morals don’t exist. As a substitute, the idea if it feels good it must be good is used. The deep vital subject of love is trivialized as a chemical drive to copulate, which is one reason why the govt’s ideas of who can adopt & how to parent can be really wacky at times, they will steal a child from its parents for no reason & give it to foster “parents”. Science delivers, but what we have received from Science has come at an enormous hidden cost.

What’s godly is removed from the entirety. Modern Christians allow Science to shrivel their thinking into a fuzzy faith matching ROM 10:2, “They have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge.” When Gallup polled, 90% of Amer. say they never doubted God’s existence, yet only 1% say the Bible was the most important book in their life. Some will retort, “But Science is knowledge!” It is one-dimensional knowledge, only what can be measured, its simplistic view of life for instance relegates your body to a mechanical robot, your mind a computer. ARE YOU A ROBOT? Seriously think about that. God gave us free will, the will to choose, so that we could sincerely love….I am sad if you have allowed science to convince you that you are merely a biological robot. You are not a robot. Our scientific culture feels fine with a machine saying “thank you” after you make your store purchase. The life, the spirit, is unimportant…we’re functioning on shallow, empty thinking, and our young people have no idea how to answer all the meaningful questions of life, because science won’t even ask them! By enthroning Science as our source of truth, we’ve stolen the means for young people to have meaning, passion & purpose. Science has reduced us to where we don’t even know how to get along w/ our loved ones. No wonder the pre-scientific cultures I lived in (Nepal, & the Amish) had happy marriages w/ zero divorce rates.

Over thousands of years, the wisdom of wise spiritual men was compiled in God’s Word & passed on to us. The fountain of wisdom & knowledge comes from a Creator who relates to us. In Christ “are hidden all the treasures of wisdom (sophia) & knowledge (gnosis).” COL 2:3 Working beside Christlike men taught me vital lessons no science book could teach. The contrast between the modern secular approach to knowledge & Christ are these: measurable isolated factoids vs. wise principles of life…multiple choice Bible quizzes vs. discipleship…trying to see truth while blinded by pride & demons & prideful preconceived ideas vs. having a love for the truth & humbly letting the Spirit of Truth teach us. It’s the difference between the numbers of an address and a home. Is your life valueless or of value? The godly man of faith humbly asked, “Open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things.” PS 119:18 Complete truth is found where the complete attributes of God are present: love, hope, faith, etc. Science threw away our moral compasses. With science as truth we please ourselves, with Christ we please God…self-centered vs. God-centered lives. To cover up our purposeless empty lives we play games, hedonistically eat junk food, & shop. We live in the shallow waters of science. Science was the god that the French revolution used to justify killing all the priests. Pol Pot’s atheist communists did the same w/ the Buddhist priests. The Word says this secular philosophy is “hollow & deceptive”.

Quantum Physics has forced science to pay attention to concepts they long ago discarded: that our perceptions of measurements can be unreliable, b. that there are hidden dimensions, c. things are mysteriously connected. These are things that Christ has been teaching long before Quantum Physics. “Let God be true, & count all men liars.” Wisdom (practical knowledge) & knowledge (intellectual ideas) are treasures that are hidden (deposited in a repository, naturally hidden like a treasure that once it’s found is again hidden for safekeeping). “Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom & knowledge.” (Wonderful words of life!) If we want to learn from the Spirit of Truth we have to be teachable, not self-satisfied in pride that we know it all. This is why Yahshua said, “I praise you Father…because you have hidden these things from the ‘wise’ & ‘learned’, & revealed them to little children.” MT 11:25. When I was Amish & went to a med. doctor he talked to me like I was a 5 yr. old child. Science views unscientific cultures to be childlike. While our culture is infatuated w/ our discovery of nuclear energy & testing nukes by the hundreds, these childlike cultures are busy praying.
