2 KINGS MEET AT SPIEF 2014

The 2 Kings I wrote about will face each other today. Putin will sit in a front row seat when William Van Duyn gives his speech to put pressure on Russian politics as well as discuss new economic changes for a better business consciousness. As has happened in history, usually a king can enter another king’s territory & be safe (but not always), but one can only imagine how difficult it is for Mr. Van Duyn’s security to ensure his safety stepping into Mr. Putin’s world. I found it interesting that after I referred to Putin as a king, the mainstream media began saying Putin wants to be a “Czar”—the German form of this is “Kaiser”, the Latin “Caesar”, in other words a king!

THOUGHT FROM CHIEF SEATTLE (c. 1780-1866). Chief Si’ahl (also pronounced Seattle) is the famous native chief of the Duwamish Tribe whom they named Seattle, WA after. What he said keeps running thru my mind: “Humankind has not woven the web of life. We are but one thread within it. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves. All things are bound together. All things connect.” We are connected to the elite like Putin & Van Duyn, and they are connected to us. That is why Christ said pray for your enemies, & do good to those who despitefully use you. In other words, fight evil with good.

SPIEF 2014 (St. Petersburg International Economic Forum). Some 6,500 people from 72 countries, including 2,500 business reps take part in SPIEF 2014. 140 heads of foreign companies & 469 Russian business executives are to attend SPIEF 2014. The major part of top managers of the largest foreign corporations have come from Europe, although Asia is represented also. On Fri. 23 May, Vladimir Putin met with heads of major Russian & foreign companies & business associations at the CEO Global Summit, which is part of the St Petersburg International Economic Forum.

At 8:31 a.m. there were several Russian speakers that made “Opening remarks”. I present them here so you have an idea of type of Russian leaders at this huge conference: Sergei Plugotarenko (Dir. Russian Assoc. for Electronic Communications RAEC), Valentin Makarov (President, Russoft Assoc.) & Sergei Plugotarenko (Dir. Russian Assoc. for Electronic Comm. RAEC).

PUTIN’S ADDRESS said, “Over the past several years, the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum has cemented its reputation as an authoritative and highly respected discussion platform. Its far-reaching program has regularly attracted heads of states & governments, business leaders from Russia & abroad, & leading experts. The debates at this event invariably focus on the most pressing issues facing Russia and the world.
“This year, the Forum is dedicated to ‘Sustaining Confidence in a World Undergoing Transformation’ – a topic of vital importance. Indeed, in a world currently experiencing rapid geopolitical, technological, & structural change, this choice of theme is a particularly pertinent one. The international community is well placed to move forward & ensure continued global development merely by acting in concert, respecting mutual interests, and further consolidating constructive relationships which have become firmly established over several decades.”

VAN DUYN’S SPEECH. I was to have received a copy of Mr. Van Duyn’s speech, & I expect it will arrive later, and I will attach excerpts to this post’s thread when it arrives. As you can see, many of the things that world leaders do is face to face. This may seem old fashioned. Remember, how Cathy O’Brian wrote about personally delivering messages from one leader to another…in other words, human messengers are still being used in this age of technology(!) because it is more confidential! Also, as you may anticipate, some of the leaders are figureheads…if someone like Bush Jr. would meet with Yeltsin…you can be sure that the real work is going to be done by their intelligent specialists. I know this kind of dynamic for sure from witnesses & history that figure head leaders delegate the hard work to specialists. In this case, neither Putin nor Van Duyn are figureheads, both are quite intelligent & informed & in control of their own people.

VAN DUYN’S CONCERN ABOUT TURKEY. He has been concerned about the despotic leadership of the current Turkish govt. under Prime Minister Recep Erdogan. The Prime Minister recently angered people by saying that mining accidents were merely part of “the nature of the business”. In the last decade over 1,000 miners have died in accidents, & recently 301 Turkish miners died in an incident where 8 people responsible for the accident have been charged with manslaughter. I have been told some of the things that are being done behind the scenes…. So expect a new Turkish govt.

As the world turns…have a blessed day my friend.
