SUPPRESSED ARCHEOLOGY. (30 JULY 2016)

Are we allowed to amend our take on things?? This is a discussion that focuses primarily on the sunken city off the west side of Cuba (off the Pinar del Rio Province) which doesn’t fit the secular establishment narrative. First, a little about this author’s perspective. I do believe that the Biblical narrative of a general global flood has been vindicated by archeology. It’s my contention that the account of Creation in Genesis can be reasonably & “correctly” interpreted a number of ways, and the text in GEN 1 & 2 certainly allows for an older earth than 6,000 yrs. I make no claim to be able to decipher which Biblically-based explanation is most accurate. What I am certain is that lots of archeological items do not fit the accepted “scientific” narrative either. No matter which way we turn, all the accepted narratives fail to explain what has been discovered. I do believe that we should stay humbly flexible & keep learning. What is bizarre is that the “scientific” institutes that claim to be investigating the past & getting to the bottom of things are busy covering up the record in numerous ways. What’s with that?? If something is found out of place & out of sync with the politically correct narrative, then it simply gets dismissed!

THE UNDERWATER CITY OFF CUBA. I have written about very ancient underground cities off Japan (Yonaguni) & India (Gulf of Cambay) that don’t fit the establishment narrative, but I have not covered the one off Cuba (Cabo de San Antonio). I’ve known about it for years…and I kept hoping more would be discovered. This city lays in a sand seabed & has 3 pyramids (that are closer together than Giza’s). (See the picture in the thread.) It appears to have been built with 8’x10’ blocks of hewn granite, not limestone as detractors have claimed. The blocks are too hard & too smooth to be limestone, according to marine geologists. Some were rectangular & others circular. Samples of the polished granite were brought to the surface. (The nearest granite to quarry lies in central Mexico.) One of the marine engineers who discovered the city said, “[the city] is not a matter of opinion, it’s objective reality.” When the story briefly went mainstream in Dec., 2001, the senior editor of National Geographic said, “We’re at a point where we would very much like to solve this riddle.” And since then, the story has gone into obscurity. Various organizations reneged on their promises to investigate it. Because the story has gone into obscurity, I am resurrecting it, although I would guess some of my readers are well aware of it.

THE DISCOVERY. Interested readers can go to Wikipedia’s article “Cuban underground city” to read more on the details of its discovery by a 265’ ship of the Canadian exploratory company Advanced Digital Communications working under contract to the Cuban govt. along with 3 other undersea exploration companies. Cuba has lots of shipwrecks of Spanish galleons full of silver & gold. Apparently Castro wanted a better idea what was offshore. No one was expecting to discover a 2 sq. mile underwater city at 2,000 ft. After the initial discovery early in 2001, the company returned with an underwater video robot to film the sonar images. May 14, 2001 Reuters in Havana broke the story, which then got picked up by American, Canadian & British news (1) briefly in Dec., 2001. (I’ve read these various news stories, which are similar.) They were then followed the next day by quotes from “experts” who dismiss it all. An example is Professor of oceanography Robert Ballard who was quoted, “That’s too deep, I’d be surprised if it was human. You have to ask yourself, how did it get there? I’ve looked at a lot of sonar images in my life, and it can be sort of like looking at an ink blot — people can sometimes see what they want to see.”

MORE FOOD FOR THOUGHT. Researchers believe that Cuba was linked to the Yucatan Peninsula by a land bridge that would have run through the sunken city area. There have been similar discoveries. Another sunken city was spotted by air in this area off Cuba by Hemingway’s brother, & reported. Two oral traditions in Mexico before the Spanish arrived are 1) that a great natural disaster sank an island towards the east, and 2) that an advanced race of tall white people came from the East. The native word Atlanticu meant “our good father,” or, “the place where our good father rests.”

OTHER DISCOVERIES IN NEARBY AREAS. Herald de Paris & Andrew Collins have claimed a similar city with pyramids, platforms & roads off the Bahama Islands in shallow water, the location of which they say needs to be kept secret. Interest in searching for ancient ruins in the Bahamas centers around the Assoc. for Research & Enlightenment which promotes Edgar Cayce’s prophecies. Along this line, the controversial undersea Bimini Road was found in 1967, the Scott Stones (jettisoned ballast?) found in 1997, underwater blocks in 66’ of water off the Canary Islands (fd. in ‘87), two underground harbors off Bahama in (2005-06), and the claims by a young man to have spotted concentric rings & a canal in NASA images of the water off the Bahamas in 2005. All interesting, but even taken together there is nothing of substance to prove that Atlantis was located in the area. By the way, Sir John Dee & Sir Francis Bacon both thought Atlantis was in the area clear back in Qn. Eliz. 1’s reign. And now we’ll discuss a sunken city that finally did get explored.

SUNKEN MAYAN CITY IN GUATEMALA. In the early ’70’s, divers reported seeing a sunken city at the bottom of Lake Atitlan. The lake is an ancient caldera (caldera = a crater left on the top of a mtn. from a volcanic eruption.) In 1998, a scuba diver Roberto Samayoa saw the city & reported it to archeologists. They were skeptical. It was not until 2007, when Roberto was showing his underwater pictures of staircases & plazas that an archeologist realized that something important had been discovered. So it took 35 yrs. after its discovery for an archeologist to take note of this ancient underwater city! All kinds of explorations then were made with various high tech methods, and here is what was learned. The city was a major sacred pilgrimage site with a sacred Mayan acropolis- with religious stelas and other religious structures, & at least 30 houses, a gate & a main square which is 50 yards wide. The site was destroyed c. 300 A.D. Pottery dated back to 1200 B.C. The importance of the city was that it was located on a 30 acre island, which was one of 3 islands in a lake. The geography fit into the Mayan idea that 3 deities created Creation in a circular shape trying 3 times. The lake rose & the site was abandoned.
